Google's New Ads Help You Reach Your Target Audience

By Courtney Mills

It seems everyone at the moment is offering discounts on their products or services. Why not? It's a great way to get new customers for your business, especially in these tough economic times. You need the customers in order for your business to survive and customers are looking for the "best priced" products or services, to reduce the strain on their hip pocket.

If you have an AdWords campaign then Google has made it even easier to offer discounts to your target audience.

Google has release two new display ad templates which allow advertisers to create online coupons. These coupons can then be run on sites across the Google content network and are customizable. You can add your own ad-copy, coupon codes and color scheme.

Christian Yee from the Inside AdWords crew explains more:

You can probably guess why coupon-based promotions might be especially effective these days, and display ads allow you to add in eye-catching ad copy, coupon codes, and customized color schemes that wouldn't be possible with simple text ads.

Here is an example of the coupon template:

The popularity of coupons has grown quite considerably recently. Check out the recent statistics from Nielsen below which shows the huge increase in visitors to coupon sites.

The data reiterates the fact that people are looking for discounts on products. So why not offer them on your products or services? To help get you started, I have found an article from Sta.rtup.Biz which outlines some great tips to creating good coupons. You can check out the article here.

If you are interested in the AdWords coupon templates for your online campaign, simply login to your AdWords account and choose the "Display ad builder" option.
